Rhinoplasty Surgery
Through out the years there have been half a million people improving the shape of their nose using rhinoplasty surgery.

Some people are unhappy with the nose they are born with, some with the shape that has changed with age, other may need nose re-shaping,  due an accident or it could be that they are suffering breathing problems that need to be cleared.

The nose is one of the facial features that has a great impact on how we look, and the nose is the most defining characteristic of the face.

Any slight alteration to the nose can improve some ones appearance.

Making the procedure more successful is a result of a good relationship between the patient and the surgeon

As with any cosmetic surgery good health and realistic expectations and medical expertise must be developed, for a good procedure and excellent results

Understanding nasal surgery is also critical since there is no ideal in rhinoplasty

Nose correction is the definition of Rhinoplasty surgery.

The procedure consists of making incisions inside the nose and the  Bone and Cartilage  support system of the nose is accessed.

In some cases the incision is made in the area of the skin separating the nostrils.

The next step is to remove an amount of underlying bone and cartilage; this is then added to or rearranged to provide a new shape and structure.

An example; when the nose is to large the surgeon will use this  Technique to Sculpt  the cartilage and reduce the size

The angle of the nose can be altered in relation to the upper lip, this giving a more youthful look, or to correct a distortion.

The tissues are then re-shaped over the new frame and the incisions are then closed.

A small splint will be placed on the nose to protect it and to keep the structure stable while undergoing the healing process.

A soft absorbent material may be placed inside of the nose to maintain stability to the wall of the air passages which are called the septum.

Rhinoplasty surgery usually takes an hour to perform under a local anaesthetic, and  The Patient  will be allowed home after the procedure.

In some cases a  Local Anaesthetic  and a light sedation will be used and the nose numbed, the patient will be awake through the operation but will feel no pain.

With using a general anaesthetic the patient will sleep through all the procedure and will stay overnight at the clinic or hospital.

What is the Recovery Period After Rhinoplasty Surgery?

After surgery the face will feel puffy and you will experience  Swelling and Bruising  around the face and eyes for the first few days, but this will settle down

Absorbable suture are usually used so that they do not have to be removed, nasal splints and dressings will be removed after ten days.

Most patients are up and about the following day, and you will be able to resume a normal life, but avoid jogging, swimming ect.

In a week or two it will not be visible that  Any Surgery  has taken place..
