Eyes in Harmony with the Facial Features


The Eye
The eye is a vital part of the body that relays sensory information to the brain

Damage
The eye has a delicate structure, and is susceptible to damage

See
The eye is an organ that produces sight which enables us to see

Wide
The eye is approximinatley one inch across

Visual
In this area across the is the sight visible

Socket
The eyes sit in their own protective pocket

Pocket
This pocket is a bony structure in the skull

Parts
The parts are made up of different colours

Iris
The eye has a small opening in the coloured part which s called the Iris

Small Opening
The small opening is in the Pupil

Pupil
The Pupil lets in the light

Lens
A lens in the centre focuses light on to the a screen which is called the Retina

Retina
The Retina s situated at the back of the eye

Image
The Retina forms all images

Nerve
The nerve cells that are in the Retina translates these images into electrical impulses.

Impulses
These electrical impulses travel via the Optic nerve to the Brain

Brain
These impulses are sent to the Brain to be analyzed

Cornea
The eye has a proactive layer at the front of the eye called the Cornea

Conjunctiva
This area of the eye is kept in fluid, to keep the surface clean

Fluid
The eye also has an outer layer which is called a membrane.

Pressure
Pressure inside the eyeball can damage the Optic nerve.

Loss of Vision
If there is any damage then loss of vision can occur

Glaucoma
Damage that can happen to the Optic nerve and loss of vision can cause Glaucoma.

Cataract
Cataracts are normally caused by the lens becoming a paque and reducing the amount of light to the Retina.

Inflammation
Inflammation of the Cornea is common and a painful eye condition

Damage
Damage to the Cornea can also affect the vision

Try to protect the eyes where possible perhaps by wearing proactive glasses ect.
